Exporters are able to receive significant government assistance for research & development, marketing, promotion and other costs associated with exporting locally-made goods and products overseas.
Export Market Developments Grants (EMDG) are administered through Austrade and are designed to encourage Australian SMEs to develop export markets. Grants of up to $150,000 are available each year for a maximum of eight years in order to assist Australian companies in developing and promoting their products for export.
Eligible South Australian businesses can apply for an EMDG for a variety of purposes, including:
engaging an overseas representative for your business
international marketing and promotion of your product
overseas travel related to the promotion and sale of your product (e.g.. attending trade fairs, seminars, etc.)
engaging marketing consultants
communication costs associated with the international export and marketing of your product
travel costs associated with bringing overseas buyers to Australia
